Molybdat ist ein Tyrosin-Phosphatase-Inhibitor und wird den Inhibitor-Cocktailen in einer Konzentration von 1 - 10mM zugesetzt. In der Regel wird das Natrium- oder Ammoniumsalz eingesetzt (Wu, Y.Y. & Bradshaw, R.A. (1993) J. Cell Biol. 121, 409-422 Hemmung der Effekte von NGF und FGF auf PC12-Zellen durch Vanadat).
