Clavacin; 4-Hydroxy-4H-furo[3,2-c]pyran-2(6H)-on. Mycotoxin Antibiotika aus Aspergillus und Penicillin species. In Rattenversuchen karzinogen. Zeigt einen Einfluss auf den Kohlenstoffmetabolismus. Verursacht Brüche in DNA. Inhibiert die Aminoacyl-tRNA Synthetase. Hat auch einen Einfluß auf den intrazellulären Ionenfluß und die Interaktion mit Zellmembranen.
